Joan Dannacher began her professional career as a speech-language pathologist. As she became increasingly aware of and fascinated by the relationship between nutrition and development, she energetically pursued and obtained a second degree and license in dietetics/nutrition.  Joan is highly motivated by the marked improvements in behavior, health, development, and cognition that can be achieved when nutrition/metabolic needs are recognized and dietary modifications are initiated.

Joan has extensive experience working with children who have deficits of sensory-motor integration. These deficits can affect multiple areas, including behavior, attention, language, communication, feeding, and nutrition. She is able to individualize treatment for issues involving growth and nutrition, specific food preferences, attention, cognition, speech-language development, food allergy/intolerance, weight management, and autism spectrum disorder.

Joan is a recipient of the CCN (certified clinical nutritionist) credential, a rigorous post-graduate program of study focusing on leading-edge research and practice protocols.  In addition to her family and her career, Joan enjoys tennis, yoga, reading, and cooking.
